The premise of the musical is simple: we took the amazing Hunger Games novel by Suzanne Collins and turned it into a musical production. This is not an opera-- it has both songs and spoken dialogue, making it more like a traditional musical.
The musical is not going to be a replica of the movie-- it was written during the Hunger Games filming period, prior to the film's release. We used artistic license to bring the book to the stage, though we have also tried to keep as close to the novel as possible. We are ardent fans of The Hunger Games and do not wish to alter it any more than is necessary.
